Is My Outside








Poetry that addresses a little-discussed or understood societal issue--psychological abuse of men by their partners. The poems are informed by male abuse victim stories. Like female victims, men feel trapped, isolated, and helpless. There are fewer community resources for abused men. Men may feel shame in a male-dominated culture and avoid disclosure of the abuse. Many are unaware that men can be abused. The book raises awareness of male partner abuse and helps others understand its power and control dynamics.
